Salvador
Salvador is a beautiful city in the region of Bahia in the North East of Brazil. Every year in february there s a huge carnival with up to 2 million people celebrating in the streets!
A long time ago, slaves were brought from Africa to work for rich people in Bahia. They were forced to work without being paid and were treated very badly. This is a sad part of Bahia's history. Eventually the slaves were freed and they could find jobs of their own. Many slaves stayed in Bahia and so now we can see lots of things in Bahia which come from Africa:
Acaraje
